What PNoy lacks in political machination, will, cunning and eloquence, he makes up for them with simplicity and sincerity. He’s not ideal and perfect given the issue on Hacienda Luisita, handling of the hostage crisis, etc. but I could say he isn’t as crooked, vile and opportunistic as the one who held the fort for 9 years ahead of him.

Dolphy is no saint either, his success in his career is only rivaled by two things - his success with women, but also by his success in providing for all of his offsprings. Still, in my humble opinion, he is more of a National Artist than Carlo J. Caparas. The fact that Caparas was conferred that title ahead of Dolphy is as preposterous as Arroyo’s 9 years in Malacanang.

Dolphy supported FPJ in 2004 and Villar in 2010. GMA virtually slapped the country’s King of Comedy by bypassing him as National Artist. PNoy had him awarded with the Grand Collar of the Order of the Golden Heart recognizing his lifetime achievements.

Indeed a study in contrast in depicting arrogance and class.
